Fossil Point - California

On the Central Coast of California, the vines are never far from the influence of the sea. Sunny afternoons give way to cool marine breezes, and the growing season is directly shaped by the seasonal flow of the currents and surface temperature of the nearby Pacific Ocean. The vines take root in coarse sand, calcareous shale, and fossilized oyster beds – all remnants of the ancient sea floor.

The Wines

Fossil Point Chardonnay Central Coast Ava

The 2015 Central Coast AVA Chardonnay is produced from select vineyards in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties, at the heart of Coastal California wine country.

Cold fermentation temperatures in stainless steel tanks and use of the aromatic musqué clone of Chardonnay bring freshness to the nose and palate of this wine.  Perfect partner to oysters and other shellfish, and overall a very versatile partner at the table.
