Estampa - Chile
Viña Estampa began in 2001 as the result of the vision and entrepreneurial spirit of Miguel González-Ortiz, the winery’s owner and current president. From the beginning the winery focused on innovation and modern techniques to create world-class wines that would fully express the characteristics of the different varieties and their origin, the Colchagua Valley.
Estampa is the only winery in Chile that specializes in the production of blends, a technique that consists of carefully combining two or more fine varieties, each contributing its best characteristics, to create wines with tremendous balance and unique personality.
The creative spirit, the technical quality, and a great love of the land enable the creation of exceptional wines that are a true contribution to the Chilean wine industry and make Viña Estampa a world-class winery.
Our icon LaCruz wine is a Carménère-based red blend from Marchigüe.The varieties that go into this wine come from micro-blocks in the vineyards that have a specific soil profile and that we treat very carefully throughout the entire process in order to achieve the maximum expression of terroir.
LaCruz stands out for its balanced tannic structure that presages perfect evolution in the bottle. The acidity level in this Carménère make it fresh, and it is persistent in both aroma and lingering finish. It was aged for 18–24 months in French oak barrels to gain complexity and character.
The premium wine Gold is a Carménère-based red blend from Marchigüe. It comes from a selection of specific blocks with low production per hectare, which encourages greater concentration in the fruit.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are later added, and the blend is aged for 12–14 months in French oak barrels to gain complexity and character.
Del Viento Sauvignon Blanc
The grapes were hand picked, and the bunches were selected and deposited into
the press without destemming. Once fermentation was complete the lees were stirred constantly for
4 months to help liberate mannoproteins.
Color: bright and slightly greenish-yellow.
Aromas: Fruity and citrusy recalling lime and grapefruit. Subtle herbal notes over a
sweet aromatic backdrop.
Flavors: Saline on the palate with intense and refreshing acidity. Silky and complex
with good breadth and extended persistence. Pleasing sweet-and-salty finish.
Del Viento Pinot Noir
Cherry red in color, this Pinot Noir is fresh and balsamic, with very spicy (nutmeg, clove) notes and tons of aromatic herbs to make one think of a Barolo Chinato or a vermut, with a special brightness of fruit. The palate reveals the same brightness and liveliness. Flavorful with smooth, well-balanced tannins.
Del Viento Rose
Delicious, seductive Rosé made in an absolutely delicate style that impresses with its mild fruity aromas. Subtle, pale and slightly orangish-pink in color. Fresh and fruity on the nose with delicate aromas of fresh cherries and cinnamon with light notes of citrus. Silky on the palate with refreshing persistence. Limited production wine.
Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc
Reserva Viognier- Chardonnay
This variety comes from 7 hectares of our own vineyards planted to massal selection in the Marchigüe sub-region. The soils have a certain amount of clay over granitic bedrock. This zone is more highly influenced by the coastal winds due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, just 60 km away.
A wine with much varietal typicity, very good aromatic persistence, and made in a fresh style.
Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon- Petit Verdot
This variety comes from 25 hectares of our own vineyards planted to a massal selection. The deep, well-drained soils have a clay texture, and the climate is warm and dry throughout the grapes ripening period.
The Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is an intensely colored, fresh, and well-structured wine with firm tannins and pleasing persistence.
Reserva Carmenere- Malbec
This variety comes from 25 hectares of our own vineyards planted to massal selection. The deep, well-drained soils have a clay texture, and the climate is warm and dry throughout the grapes ripening period.
The Reserva Carmenere is vibrant in color and very fruity with good aromatic persistence and soft, sweet tannins.
Estampa Gold - Cabernet Sauvignon
Estampa Gold Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 was made with grapes from Marchigue. Our Cabernet Sauvignon grows on deep, very wekk-drained plants and grapes of particular complexity.
The climate in the Marchigue sector is influenced by the winds that enter from the coast and is exceptional for the production of red wines with tremendous character and freshness.
